Checkmate's Jet Between Goes

A deployment of eight VF-211 "Fighting Checkmates" jets deployed to Luke in November 1982 a few months after I was assigned there.

Here is interesting view of F-14A 159024 of VF-211, CVW-9, assigned to the USS Constellation and home based at NAS Miramar.
The jet has the wings in forward sweep and the spoilers are deployed.

You can see a "-60" power unit with the air duct and the power cables connected in preparation for the next launch evolution.
