I though I would take my 1.5 year old grand daughter (who love choo-choos!) to see a train this afternoon.

We drove out along the BNSF main North-South line in eastern Kansas along Kansas State Highway K-15.  We encountered an intermodal just north of Mulvane Kansas. I pulled into a private grade crossing and shot the train.

She loved seeing the orange BNSF units and was happy in the car all the way home.

Hope you enjoy the shots!

I have a train story for you.  I was PCSing from Guam to Oklahoma with leave in Upstate New York.  My wife and I talked about taking a train from California to Buffalo this excited our oldest son (4 years old at the time).  We stayed with friends in California and found out it was much cheaper to rent a car and drive to New York than take the train.  Every time we saw a train driving across I-80 my son who pout and point out the fact we should have been on that train.
