Here is how I have my aircraft slides stored. This metal cabinet has 20 drawers. Here is one of the drawers w/ some of my F-4 slides (My F-4 collection takes up six of these drawers).
I have pulled out the envelope for F-4D 66-7550. We can see it is a Block 30 jet and I have shots of it in 497 TFS marks from Taegu in 1981 up through reserve service with the 465 TFS at Tinker in 1983 and 87 and with the 89 TFS at WPAFB in 1989.
It has a red sharpie mark in the top of the envelope denoting that it is a "MiG Killer".
The slides are indexed in AFSN or BuNo sequence. The only exception to this is my C-130 slides are in Lockheed CN sequence for ease of indexing.
