Me flying N2158S over OK by F16CrewChief Me flying N2158S over OK by F16CrewChief
My friend Wayne George and I picked up some new Cessna's for Glendale Aviation from the Cessna plant in Independence KS. I took off first, but Wayne was in a faster T206H and soon passed me and took this picture of my aircraft over Ponca City OK.

This is the only picture I have of me flying an airplane.

DA please note, this is not my photograph, I posted it for my Deviant ID paragraph

I'm learning to fly myself. I started with an old cessna 172 and will be transferring to an older piper cadet/cherokee.

What's it like to fly a spanking brand new airplane? I usually fly 50+ year old ones!

It is pretty nice! Our flying club has fairly new acft w/ Garmin glass (less than 2 years old), but I miss flying old beaters w/ crappy radios :)

I have flown with the Garmins and they are really nice. I have also been known to ferry some damaged aircraft, (after being inspeted by me). I usually fly a 60 year old Chipmunk that belongs to a friend of mine.

I think the oldest airplane I have flown was an Interstate Cadet.

I think the oldest I have flown is a 1939 Dart [link] and the oldest I have ridden in was a 1929 Ford 5-AT-C N414H.[link] It was back in the mid '70's and the paint was a little different.

My old FBO had a T-28A that I got to fly with the boss a few times. It was fun to play with!

The good ol' Cessna 172. The first one I flew was ZS-KGB! Talking to the tower, all we said was "Kilo Golf Bravo" and the penny didn't drop until we were walking away from the plane!!

That is a 172S. It is different than earlier models since it has a 180 HP IO-360 engine. I picked this one up new from the factory in KS.
