Description

F-16C-25-CF, 84-1277 assigned to the 64th Agressor Squadron (AGRS), 57th Fighter Weapons Wing, based at Nellis and photographed at Luke AFB in February 1990.

The Nellis Agressors were kind of hard to keep track of in the 1990's. There was some kind of politically incorrect buffoonery that took place at Nellis (similar to the Tailhook scandal if I recall) and the aggressors were officially disbanded on 5 October 1990. The colorful former agressor aircraft were still used, but they were oficially assigned to the 422d Test and Evaluation Squadron, Adversary Threat Division (ATD) [link]((ATD)%20AND%20(by%3Af16crewchief))&qo=2 and remained this way until the 64 AGRS was reactivated on 3 October 2003. Currently the 64th flies F-16 acft and the 65th AGRS flies F-15C/D in the Aggressor" role.

The rumour is that when Iran was buying the P-3B's that one of their AF Senior officers saw an A-4 in an aggressor colour scheme at the same factory and said that is how they wanted their P-3's painted.
