DM Hawg in AMARC by F16CrewChief DM Hawg in AMARC by F16CrewChief
A-10A-FA, 78-0529 assigned to the 354th FS, 355th FW home based across the ramp at Davis-Monthan AFB and seen on the AMARC PSP receiving ramp in March 1993.

This is a pleasant shot of the 'Hawg'!

The "Bull Dogs" on the tail should mean this a 354th FS bird, not a "Long-Tongue Lizzard" of the 357th  ;-)

Beautiful plane, now if only it had the sharkmouth on the front, then it would be perfect :)

I was happy to have been in the military working on some very cool but very lethal machines. As with my time on nuclear ICBM's [link] I just do not let it bother me, it was the job I signed up for.

Interesting aircraft..... quite a few years ago I saw a pair of these in action. They were practicing targeting the lorries on the A1 road. I was 280 feet up a radio tower and they were below me. Shame I didn't have my camera with me.
You got a better shot than I would have though.... :)

F-35 cannot hold a candle to a plane with a giant rotating steel c**k of death that brings down beer bottle sized shells for t3h win and a cannon roar for t3h lulz.

:) The A-10 is an awesome aircraft. If the USAF retires them, I would hope every one is shredded since it is too potent a weapon to allow another nation to fly it if we elect to replace them.

Singapore should have a few of those when they are retired, we are one of the few countries outside the USA allowed to have Apache gunship helicopters with Longbow radar.

Yessir. I still laugh when I think that this will be replaced by the F-35!

We should just re-open the A-10 assembly line and build more of them to replace the old ones. The F-35 will never be able to hold a candle to the A-10 when it comes to ground support. Nor do I think that the Russians or Chinese will be able to field an aircraft as good as the A-10 in the next 50 years!

Arrggghh - we are really making a big mistake by going to the F-35 for a ground support role!
