Description
TF-16N-30-CF, 161280 (AFSN 85-1381) assigned to the Naval Fighter Weapons School based at NAS Miramar and seen transient at Luke AFB.
The F-16Ns were simplified early block 30s w/ the NSI "smallmouth" inlet, no AME (alternate Mission Equipment) provisions, the 20MM gun system deleted, with ballast installed in its place and the APG-66 radar system installed from the F-16A/B.
Since they were not provisioned w/ AME, they could not carry the radar reflective AMD pods on AIM-9 bodies since station 1 and 9 rails carried a captive AIM-9 and a ACMI telemetry pod. The AMD pod reflectors were mounted on small fairings under the inlet on the left and right hardpoints..
