Description

B-18A-DO 39-0025, c/n 2673 seen at Cannon AFB in September 1982.

The B-18 was produced in three distinct versions; The B-18 had a stubby glass nose and powered by two Wright R-1820-45 engines rated at 930 HP each. The B-18A as seen here had a more pointed nose and uprated 1000HP R-1820-53 engines. The B-18B was a refit of earler aircraft and had a more bulbous nose for installation of Magnetic Anomoly Detection gearfor ASW duties.
